Tour 1:  Ultimate food, wine & classic car tour of the Barossa Valley

Let Auburn Tours offer an alternative to "wine tasting" and driving. At the same time, enjoy an unforgettable experience travelling around this world renowned wine producing region, while being driven in a "very rare" 1935 Auburn convertible.

Pick up is in a "luxury 4WD" from the airport, train, bus depot, hotels, B&Bs or residential accommodation in the "inner" Adelaide metropolitan area.
Travel via the NE suburbs, through the picturesque village of Inglewood, past the Milbrook reservoir, charming Gumeracha and follow the upper Torrens Valley to the town of Birdwood (at this time, an option on visiting the National Motor Museum could be taken, but with less time available in the Auburn tour vehicle).
From Birdwood we travel onto Mt Pleasant, then via Eden Valley to historic Yalumba Winery for your first Barossa tasting experience. Here we transfer to the 1935 Auburn (top down weather permitting). A leisurely drive, with a luncheon stop and a number of wine tastings at some historical and boutique wineries, whereafter we return to Angaston and transfer vehicles for the return journey to Adelaide.

Tour 2:  Barossa Valley Tour in a unique 1935 Auburn convertible (4 and 6 hour tours)

No matter what season it may be, driving amongst the vines in this beautifully restored vintage vehicle will be a memorable experience.
Four and six hour tours depart from your Barossa accommodation and include at least two historic and two boutique wineries. Itinerary is flexible to your wishes, as is your luncheon venue. A platter at a winery, restaurant meal or perhaps a gourmet picnic basket.

Tour 4:  Clare Valley wineries & scenic tour in luxury 4WD (approx 8 hours)

Pick up from Barossa or Adelaide accommodation and travel via historic Kapunda, Tarlee and on to the quaint town of Auburn at the southern end of the Clare Valley. Itinerary within the valley is totally flexible, as is our luncheon venue. Choice of a pub, restaurant or heritage cafe can be decided upon on the day. Winery options could include the historic Quelltaler Estate (Annie's Lane) and Sevenhill Cellars. Boutique wineries such as Pikes, Skillogollee and Tim Adams can also be visited.

Tour 5:  Riverland Tour including visit to Banrock Station in luxury 4WD (approx 8 hours)

Pick up from Barossa accommodation and travel via Truro to the Murray River town of Blanchetown. On to Waikerie, then a short drive to "Banrock Station Wine & Wetland" Centre. This is where we start our "self-guided" wet lands tour. The 7km Boardwalk enables us an "up close" view of numerous species of birdlife. We return for lunch at the Winery's restaurant, with it's picturesque views of the wetlands.
After Lunch we move onto Barmera on the edge of Lake Bonney. A leisurely drive north to Overland Corner with its historic hotel, then following the "Murray" on the northern bank, we cross by ferry at Waikerie. Our return journey is via Swan Reach.

Tour 6:  Adelaide Hills Wineries & Scenic Tour in luxury 4WD (approx 7-8 hours)

Pick up from Barossa or Adelaide accommodation and travel via Williamstown to Gumeracha and on to picturesque Chain of Ponds winery. Then on to Birdwood (home of the National Motor Museum  - optional tour). Our luncheon stop is in the historic town of Hahndorf - choice of restaurant, quaint pubs or cafes. After visiting Nepenthe and Shaw & Smith wineries, we then travel through the scenic Hills towns of Bridgewater (home of Petaluma wines at the Bridgewater Mill), Stirling and Crafers up to Mt. Lofty summit for unsurpassed views of the Adelaide plains. For guests staying that night in Adelaide (with time permitting) we travel down to the eastern suburbs and visit "the home of Grange", Penfolds Magill Estate. For those staying in the Barossa we return via Lenswood and Cudlee Creek.

Tour 7:  Classic Car Enthusiast Tour - combination of luxury 4WD & 1935 Auburn (approx 6 hours)

Pick up from Barossa accommodation in a luxury 4WD, then travel via Williamstown to the historic town of Birdwood, where we tour the National Motor Museum. After a refreshment stop we proceed via Mt. Pleasant to the Eden Valley, then to our first wine tasting at Yalumba Winery. We then transfer to the 1935 Auburn for a leisurely 2 hour scenic and winery tour of the Barossa Valley with a choice of luncheon venues.

Tour 9:  3 Day Luxury Tour to Flinders Ranges

Enjoy an exclusive tour of the Flinders Ranges while travelling in the comfort of a current model "leather appointed" Landcruiser. With a minimum of 2 and maximum of 4 passengers (non share), this tour gives you an insight into the rugged beauty of "outback" Australia, yet staying 2 nights in "executive suites" at Wilpena Pound Resort.

The Flinders Ranges are home to nearly half of South Australia's 3100 plant species, more than 120 birds, 86 reptile and 20 mammal species. At the heart of the region is Wilpena Pond, a natural amphitheatre 17km long and 7km wide, shaped by the weathering and uplifting of the land over time.

 Day 1:    Pick up from Adelaide or Barossa accommodation and travel to historic township of Burra for a morning tea stop. After an overview of this early mining settlement, continue north and stop for lunch at an outback pub (Craddock) We then visit the "Kanyaka" homestead ruins, a thriving community in the late 1800's. Here we turn inland and follow some tracks through sheep station country and approach the Bunbinyunna Range from the southwest, taking advantage of the late afternoon sun on the rugged outcrops of geological splendor. We arrive at your accommodation at the Wilpena resort soon after.
 

Day 2:    Some free time in the morning for a bush walk or perhaps optional scenic flight (bookings essential) over the "Pound". Head off from Wilpena Resort late morning and travel through picturesque Bunyeroo Valley with a morning tea stop at a lookout. Then following tracks through numerous creek-beds we travel on to Brachina Gorge then back on the bitumen to our luncheon stop at the unique Parachilna Hotel and its renown "feral" cuisine. Here you can have an optional scenic "Helicopter flight" either over the desolate Lake Torrens or Mount Samuel & Parachilna Gorge. In the afternoon we set off through the Parachilna Gorge and stop for an afternoon tea break in another historic mining town, this time "Blinman. We then head south back to your accommodation at Wilpena, arriving late afternoon.
 

Day 3:    Set off for our return trip to Adelaide, stopping off to visit an Aboriginal site of cultural significance at Yourumbulla Caves (morning tea) then onto the township of Quorn. We then travel south through Wilmington and onto our luncheon stop at Melrose at the foot of Mount Remarkable. Then on to the Clare Valley. This can be an optional 3r night stop with a leisurely wine tour (optional Day 4) and return to Adelaide late afternoon.

Cancellation Policy:    All direct tour bookings require a 50% deposit. Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, Cheque or Money Order. Cancellations notified more than 28 days prior to the booking will incur a cancellation fee of $20 (including GST) Cancellations notified 28 days or less and more than 14 days prior to the booking, will forfeit the full deposit or 25% of the total booking, whichever is less. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to booking will forfeit all monies paid.
